Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, is a Nigerian chef, restaurateur, and actress renowned for her passion for African cuisine. Born on September 20, 1995, in Nsit Ubium, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, Baci pursued sociology at Madonna University, Okija, before venturing into the culinary world. She gained prominence as the host of "Dine on A Budget," a cooking segment on Pop Central TV, where she showcased affordable and delicious recipes.

 

In August 2021, Baci's culinary skills earned her the title at the Jollof Faceoff competition, a testament to her expertise in West African cuisine. Her commitment to promoting Nigerian dishes reached a pinnacle in May 2023, when she embarked on a marathon cooking challenge, aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual. Baci cooked non-stop for 93 hours and 11 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set in 2019. This remarkable feat not only highlighted her endurance but also brought global attention to Nigerian culinary traditions.
