The 2025 Forbes Under 30 Summit, set for September 28–October 1 in Columbus, Ohio, is a four-day gathering of elite youth leaders—founders, creators, and innovators under 30 offering sessions, networking, mentorship, and cultural panels. It’s a prestigious, award-winning hub (Adweek’s Best Event for Professional Development) attended by thousands globally.

But what is the Forbes Under 30 List, and how are honorees chosen? Each year, Forbes publishes 20 industry-specific “30 Under 30” lists—covering sectors from tech and healthcare to media and social impact—totaling around 600 honorees in North America. Even broader lists exist for Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The selection begins with public nominations, where anyone can nominate individuals (or themselves), providing background info, achievements, media links, and short essays explaining their impact and motivation. From thousands of submissions, Forbes reporters shortlist finalists who undergo deeper vetting, including interviews and background research.

Next, expert panels and celebrity judges review finalists, weighing innovation, results, leadership, and potential for impact. The final selections are made by Forbes editors. The process typically spans 8–12 weeks.

Being named to the list earns a coveted invitation to the Summit—featuring high-level speakers, workshops, and networking—and marks a major milestone in a young leader’s career.

In essence, the Forbes Under 30 Summit is both recognition and a launchpad—selected through a rigorous, multi-stage process assessing impact, innovation, and leadership, culminating in a global gathering of the brightest under-30 talent.
