INSIDE PRADA: LAYERS OF IDENTITY FW26.

The Concept Reveal:
Forget everything you know about the traditional runway. For the Prada Fall/Winter 2026 show, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons took us on a journey through the "plurality of womanhood." With a cast of just 15 models walking the runway four times each, every lap was a literal stripping away of layers transforming 15 women into 60 distinct characters in real-time.
The Narrative:
Titled "Inside Prada," the collection is a masterclass in how we truly wear clothes: as an evolving armor for our many identities throughout the day. From the heavy, structured outerwear of the "public sphere" to the intimate, sheer slips revealed at the end, it was a poetic study in exposure and self-determination.
The Look Breakdown:
The Outerwear: Architectural, over-textured coats and "Persian Lamb" style jackets that served as the primary anchor for each model's first appearance.
The Contrast: Heavy wools and leathers met weightless organza, floral-print shift dresses, and shimmering satin.
The "Lived-In" Feel: Intentional wrinkles, frayed seams, and "eaten away" fabrics that suggest a passage of time and a life actually lived in the clothes.
The Finishing Touches: Messy, post-rave ponytails and "smudgy" dark eyes, grounding the high-fashion complexity with an unforced, gritty attitude.
The Setting:
Staged in the Deposito of the Fondazione Prada, the runway was surrounded by original artworks and furniture spanning five centuries, from 16th-century tapestries to 20th-century chairs, reflecting the "layers of history" that inform our modern selves.
Mrs. Prada says, "As a woman, your life is layered." How many "layers" of yourself have you worn today? Are you in your "Public Armor" coat or your "Private" sheer slip moment? Let's talk about the art of dressing in the comments! @lullumag
