When K‑Pop meets the VMAs, history is made. Jimin and Rosé aren’t just nominated—they’re leading the charge.




K-Pop is making its mark at the MTV Video Music Awards 2025, with Jimin of BTS and Rosé of BLACKPINK earning standout nominations. Jimin received his first-ever VMA nomination in the Best K‑Pop category for his solo track “Who,” joining BLACKPINK members Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie, who were also nominated in the same category.


Rosé leads the charge among solo K‑Pop acts with eight nominations, tying with Sabrina Carpenter as the most-nominated female artist this year. Her hit collaboration “APT.” with Bruno Mars is up for major categories, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction. These nominations make Rosé one of the most recognized K-pop soloists in VMA history to date.


Lady Gaga leads the overall pack with 12 total nominations, followed by Bruno Mars (11) and Kendrick Lamar (10)  The 2025 VMAs, airing September 7 at UBS Arena in New York, will debut new categories like Best Pop Artist and Best Country, and highlight genre-spanning talent including Ariana Grande, Doechii, Bad Bunny, and Tems.


For K‑Pop fans worldwide, Jimin and Rosé’s nominations represent major visibility and achievement, and ARMY and BLINK communities are rallying to secure fan-powered wins. As voting opens through early September, these idols could become defining global names at one of music’s most prestigious nights.
